February 2008 Newsletter

The January Shoot was held on Sunday, January 13th. We had 16 members present and a good program. The club hosted the shoot and furnished bacon as prizes. Ben cooked hamburgers for lunch. The shoot started in the morning and stopped for lunch and the business meeting. The winners of the Pistol Match were Mark Olson, Toby Tomlinson, and Tom Locke. The winners of the Rifle Match were Bruce Gilbreath, Toby Tomlinson, and Terry Spencer.

During the meeting, H.B. advised that a new checking account had been opened with himself and Chuck Haskell, Second Vice President as signers.

By unanimous vote of the members present, the following officers were elected for 2008: H.B. Aderhold President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Emerson Esterline as First Vice President, and Chuck Haskell as Second Vice President.

Range improvements were discussed to involve redoing the berms, applying lime to grassy areas to slow down lead oxidation and future bathhouse construction as we have started a fund for that purpose. H.B. is to investigate additional insurance status and report at the February meeting.

Upcoming Shoots

The February 2008 Shoot will be held Sunday, February 10th and will be sponsored by Tom and Walli Locke. They will serve their special chili for lunch. This will be a blanket match, so bring a $10 or better prize for the blanket and $5 to cover target costs. The format of the rifle match is to be determined. The pistol match is sponsored by Mark Olson, and will consist of an animal target at 15 yards, and a single bull 50 yard pistol target setup at 25 yards.
