2006 Turkey Shoot
I would like to thank everyone again for
making the 2006 Turkey Shoot the best ever. Thanks again to:Otis Spivey and David, Chuck Haskell, Joe
Vollrath, Perry Chambley (providing and cooking for the Friday night
Fish Fry), Tommy Thompson (who stayed thru Monday and cleaned the
range!), and Bruce Gilbreath, as well as the support from other clubs.
Thanks also to Don Holley and Robert Armstrong ... these guys have
attended every Turkey Shoot yet!
The Turkey Shoot was held both Saturday
and Sunday with 54 participants winning 60 prizes! The weather was
perfect for Saturday although it turned a little cold on Sunday. But
that didn’t stop our participants from shooting until noon
Sunday. We had a few folks show up to see what a Turkey Shoot muzzle
loader style was all about. Billy Townsend provided them with guns and
lots of instruction on both shooting and safety. We
like to introduce muzzle loading to new folks! We were also excited to
have a new member join the club during the shoot. Everyone enjoyed the
BBQ dinner with all the fixins’ and the fireside fellowship
on Saturday night.
Upcoming Shoots
January 2007 Shoot and
meeting will be held Sunday, January 14th. We will have a 4 target
match (or more if time permits). Lunch will be served from 11:30-12:30.
After lunch we will hold the first meeting for 2007 and the match will
start immediately after the meeting.
