March 2007 Shoot
We held the March Shoot on Sunday, March 11th. We had 14 participating shooters. The silhouette shoot was great with silhouette targets scattered across the range at 25 and 50 yards. Each contestant had different colored silhouette targets and no one was allowed down range until Jerry Whipple and I scored the targets. Gong targets were placed at 100 yards. Participants formed two lines and each shot one at a time as Jerry and I scored the targets. Ben Aderhold, Scott Greene, and Bruce Gilbreath got brave and were shooting at the 5 inch gongs. Several hits were made. Ben and Scott tied for first place. Bruce placed next with Perry Chambless and Chuck Haskell tied for third place. The Pistol Match was shot as most of us watched. Mark Olson and Steve Wilkes place 1st and 2nd respectively. Steve, Mack Jones, and Chuck placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively in the Bench Match. Steaks, pork chops, and bacon were awarded to the winners. Upside Down scoring also awarded the lowest scoring participants same as first and second. Tommy Thompson and R.D. Hammonds won 1st place steaks with the Upside Down scoring.

Ben, Scott, Charlie Proctor and I attended Brushy Creek's Spring Shoot. They had an excellent crowd with people from New York, Ohio, Louisiana, South Carolina, Florida and many other states. Charlie Proctor won the Primitive Match and received as his prize a hand-made knife carved from petrified wood presented in a primitive case made from cedar.
